Deck Rebuild, Siding & Soffit Repair

Newman Lake, WA

The previous deck on this Newman Lake property had collapsed, which also caused damage to the adjacent siding and soffits. The owners needed someone who could handle the full scope — not just frame a new deck and leave the rest for someone else.

We demoed the failed structure completely, assessed the ledger connection and rim joist for any rot or compromise, and rebuilt from the footings up. The new deck was designed with a multi-level layout to better match the grade of the property and take advantage of the views. We used heavy timber posts and beams with composite decking and a cable railing system on the upper level.

Once the deck framing was complete, we repaired the siding and soffits that had been damaged in the collapse, matched the existing profile as closely as possible, and added exterior lighting throughout the deck levels. The project wrapped in 2025 and left the exterior of the home in better shape than it was before the deck failed.

Kitchen Remodel

Location

Completed

2022

Scope

Full gut remodel, custom cabinetry, quartz countertops, structural wall removal

Modern Farmhouse Kitchen

Hayden, ID

The original kitchen was closed off from the rest of the main floor — a common layout in homes built in the early 2000s. The owners wanted an open, functional space with enough counter room to actually cook in, and storage that made sense.

We removed a load-bearing wall between the kitchen and dining room, which opened up the entire main floor. Custom cabinetry was built to the ceiling to maximize storage, with a large navy-painted island as the centerpiece. We used thick quartz countertops throughout, a fireclay farmhouse sink, and a professional-grade range hood that became a focal point of the room.

Flooring transitioned from old carpet and vinyl throughout the main floor to continuous wide-plank white oak. The project took about eight weeks from demo to final punch list, and the owners were able to stay in the home during most of the work.

Custom Home Build

New Construction

Location

Sandpoint, ID

Completed

2023

Scope

2,800 sq ft custom build, timber frame accents, metal roof, attached garage

Custom Home Build

Sandpoint, ID

The clients had owned this wooded lot outside Sandpoint for several years before starting the build. They had a clear vision — a home that fit the land, not the other way around. The design preserved as many existing trees as possible and oriented the main living areas toward the best views on the property.

At 2,800 square feet, the home is sized intentionally. Nothing wasted, nothing missing. Board and batten siding, a standing seam metal roof, and exposed timber accents in the great room give it a look that belongs in the North Idaho woods without feeling like a log cabin cliche. The attached two-car garage connects through a mudroom designed for people who actually use it — ski gear, hunting equipment, the works.

We broke ground in early spring and completed the project before the following winter. The owners were involved throughout, and we held weekly check-ins to keep the build on track with their schedule and decisions.
